I had a lovely afternoon with Laura yesterday. I treated her to some baby stuff (only muslins and some sleepsuits). She's hoping to kit herself out mostly with secondhand stuff but people tend to hang on to muslins because they are so useful and I said that she ought to have a couple of sleepsuits just in case. There is some beautiful baby stuff out there but I know she'll probably be given lots of stuff. She also got some dresses from Cos which are voluminous although not maternity wear. I manages to get her to buy some colours as she has a tendency to buy navy and black.
The journey back was not such fun because there was a problem on the Central line and I was tossed off the tube and had to find my way back by bus (Laura had gone on to an appointment).
I'm now allowed to say that the baby is a girl, I'm very pleased because I know Laura had a slight preference for a girl.0 -
Snoozer how lovely, a baby girl ! When DD was expecting my DGD ( we also knew she would be a girl ) I made up a large hamper basket of baby clothes, sleepsuits, vests and bibs etc by buying a few items per week in different sizes, as a surprise for when she was born.
Lamewolf I'm sorry I forgot to say how nice it was to read your post. Please pop in more often.
I think the rain has stopped so I shall now put the washing out................. whether it will dry is another story !
TTFN folks :wave:Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Good afternoon chums ,the sun is a bit slow appearing but its quite warm here in the Garden of England,
Got a wash load done and out on the line this morning so fingers crossed it will be dry by tonight.
Had a nice day out with youngest DD and two of my DGS yesterday ,we went to Maidstone and did some shopping for the youngest boy as he needed some summer stuff. then she treated us to a pub lunch which was very nice and I was so full last night I was quite happy to just have some soup for supper.
Tomorrow is my youngest DGS Mikey's birthday and he is 15 and it only seems five minutes ago he was avidly watching the Wiggles on TVI shall drop his card and present off in the morning then I am off to see my eldest DDs ma-in-law Margaret in London for the day. She is still struggling a bit from being widowed and finds weekends difficult bless her.So we are going to have a bit of pottering around at her house with lots of tea drinking and nattering to cheer her up a bit
Monday is Mikey's next brother up Henry's 18th Birthday so lots of birthday cake will be consumed. Bless him he has two A level exams on that day, poor lad but it will be his last day at school.he is off to Uni in Essex in September, so with his next brother up Jack at Uni in Hertfordshire the house will seem very quiet Only Mikey left then as the eldest boy Ben is moving into London in August to house share with his pals.DD won't know what's hit her after having a houseful of children for years . My life will become a bit more of my own at least ,not so many young people to bake forBut its part of life and a rest will make a nice change
Right time for a cuppa I think Hope everyone has a good weekend and the sun shines down on you where ever you are
Cheers chums
