Insurance for the USA

Hello
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I am going to the USA in July and travelling the west coast. The tour company I am travelling with says my insurance must include medical emergency evacuation and repatriation, and a minimum coverage of USD200,000 is required. I have tried searching for insurance on comparison sites, but I am confused as to what I need. Are there other terms we use for medical emergency evacuation and repatriation?
Also I have applied for an ESTA under the Visa Waiver Program, is that all a UK passport holder needs to enter the USA?
Thank you

Comparison sites are great to get an idea of insurers and prices, but you’d need to check the small print of each to see what is/is not included. The comparison sites usually show the de facto star ratings, if the coverage you require isnt included on one policy chances are you’d be better going up a coverage level. Medical emergency evacuation and repatriation are pretty standard inclusions on most decent policies but you’d probably want far more than $200k coverage as US medical care is shockingly expensive and if something happens you really want to have the resources to get the care you need.
Most British passport holders going on holiday only require an ESTA yes, but check on the foreign office website to see what is applicable to your situation.Save £12k in 2019 #360 -
You'd be hard pressed to find a UK insurance policy that offers less than £5,000,000 of medical insurance. So US$200,000 is nothing. Don't worry.
But don't just go for the cheapest. Choose quality over quantity. You don't want a company that will quibble when it comes to paying out.0 -
Thank you for your replies. So if I get medical insurance included that will cover the medical emergency evacuation and repatriation? I have been looking for those exact words and found nothing 0

All UK insurance offers it.
For example Annual Worldwide with InsureandGo;
Excerpt from Direct Line's Annual policy;
So don't worry. They'll get you home if that is the medical advice. It's part of the up to £10,000,000.0 -
Make sure it covers USA, a lot do worldwide excluding USA and Worldwide including USA (at higher cost)
Don't take the term worldwide at face value but it will say it clearly when you apply, just pick the including USA option.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
