Ppi reclaim excessive fees

Hi all, I am due to receive an offer for PPi reclaim. The company I am using inform me that their fee will be 39%.
My claim was submitted Feb 2019 so as I understand it they can charge a maximum of 20% plus VAT.
I have not raised this with them yet.
When I receive the cheque from the bank what is my best approach?
TIA

When you receive the Claim Company's bill you can contest it if it exceeds 20%.

Bear in mind that there is VAT charged in addition.

If you get no joy from the CMC, you can (now) take your complaint to the Ombudsman...

The date you signed the contract is what matters. Not the date the complaint was submitted. Although its unlikely it took that long - but maybe thats it?

    Best you do.

If not, you employ another claims company to complain about this claims company ... ;)

I signed in December 2018 so after the cap in fees came into play.

I will of course raise it with them just unsure as to when. Part of me wants to wait until I have recieved all cheques (I have 3 open claims and have just been notified of the first) . On the other hand I can take it up with them now but will they then stop chasing my outstanding claims if I have kicked up a fuss!?

    Ha Ha :)
You need to realise that they really don't "chase" anything.

They simply put a stamp on the envelope containing your complaint.

However, no point contesting their fee until you actually receive an invoice, so now is too soon.
