Thanks for the info I just phoned them and they said I’m not on their list of claimants to be refunded but their system has me down as being on IR even though my letter says I was on IB so I’ve got to send a copy of my letter to them and ask them to investigate.
Sorry the IB in this quote is for Income based not Incapacity benefit.
In that case IR (Income related) and IB (Income based) mean the same thing.

So if both they and the letter say you are/were on income related/based benefits, what are they investigating?
My guess is as good as yours but based on the information you have given then you won't be entitled to any backdated money. Maybe they misunderstood what you said because you seem confused with Income related and income based.

When ringing DWP the adviser is mostly reading from a screen.

Ok cool, we probably confused each other lol.

You guys are great at answering these questions. So I have another if you don’t mind?

When I was on long term Incapacity benefit I received a couples disability premium because my husband was on my claim, should we have received the family premium as we have 2 children?

Family premium would only have been paid if you were being paid for your children on the Income Support claim, which you state you weren’t, you were receiving Tax Credits.

From everything you’ve said in this thread it appears pretty likely you have received the correct entitlement throughout.
