Consumer rights under Supplier of Last Resort arrangements
Options
My energy supplier (Extra Energy) recently went into administration and I have been transferred across to Scottish Power under the "Supplier of Last Resort" regulations. I note that compared to what I was paying, the tariff I have been transferred onto is punitive. As I did not consent to be supplied by Scottish Power, I was therefore wondering what my consumer rights are in relation to this. Can I select a new supplier of my choice and back-date the supply to the transfer date? Also, will I be bound by Scottish Power's T&Cs even though I never consented to be supplied by them? I note that the credit balance I had with my old supplier has not been credited to my new bill, so can I assume this is now lost?
Any help is very much appreciated.

You are free to move providers in the normal way.
You should have had the credit transferred to you when you were moved to Scottish Power but that was six months ago when the transfer happened. Sure you haven't used the credit in the meantime?
And yes to T&Cs as it can be treated in the same way as a deemed contract. Its either that or have no utilities at all.0 -
