Corsa D spanner light and other issues

I have a vauxhall corsa D (2012) SXI 1.2 litre petrol. Over the past few months I have had a number of issues and wanted some advice.

I had the engine management light come on and had it checked using the OBDI machine I have at home. It threw out a p0101 code (fuel too lean), which I had diagnosed by a garage as a fault oxygen sensor. I then paid for this to be replaced. However, the problem has persisted and I have been to the garage on two further occasions to rectify this error.

The first suggestion was that of giving the throttle body a clean. This did nothing, and my car began to over-rev when pressing the clutch. Also another code came up p0106 (pressure/inlet manifold). I went back again this week, and the p0101 code and the over-revving seems to have disappeared. However, the yellow spanner light was on when the car was returned to me and now the car seems to have a loss of power, with in being difficult to accelerate. I have once again put the OBDI machine on today morning, and have removed the p0106 code, but the yellow spanner remained on the dashboard. It is always on and never goes off.

Does anyone have any idea what this could mean, is it linked to the other faults or something new? I thought it may mean service, as I have also had the ln5p service come up on the odometer, but I have removed this and the spanner remains. Currently my OBDI is saying that there are no stored codes on the ECU.

    Well the error code seems to be suggesting that not enough fuel is being injected into the cylinders.

    A wonky O2 sensor could cause that (i.e the car thinks it's in lower density air than it actually is). The problem is that vauxhalls are a bid fiddly with the OBD system and some fault codes aren't brought up by generic gadgets. You may need to take it somewhere with the opel/vauxhall gear to do it properly.

    It could be a variety of things, faulty fuel pumps, injectors, emissions sensors etc.

    Sounds like they're introduced an air/vacuum leak when cleaning the TB. A faulty MAF could give the 'fuel to lean' code on some cars.

    Is there not an online forum for Vauxhall where you could get some possible solutions? Worth a bit of research.

  • I had this over reving problem when I pushed the clutch down to change gear. I simply cleaned the pcv valve and sealed it with plumper tape. Never had the same again in 2 years:

  • You can also do some simple pressure tests with toque pro to test the engine which gives real time readings and check the o2 sensor readings.
