Hello
Pick up new car on Saturday , have selected registration number
Car is going to be registered on Friday by dealer with DVLA
Need to contact current insurer to swap vehicle on policy however currently not registered
Can I do this now using registration details or do I need to wait till Saturday ?
Ideally would want to do before Saturday
Thanks

Just tell them what you have told us, they will be able to advise you. You may need to tell them the VIN number until you have confirmation of your registration number.0

You just ring them and tell them the details. Best to stick with your current insurer and pay the transfer fee. Just tell them to insure it from Sat when it would be registered you do not want to transfer it earlier as then you will be without a car till Saturday. When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Please note that at no point during this work was the kettle ever put out of commission and no chavs were harmed during the making of this post.0 -
Also it is possible that the dealership will offer a short period of free insurance if that is the case you could use that insurance and sort out the rest afterwards0
