Any techies here that can help? Since I swapped to virgin media, my sons xbox won't work, it keeps cutting out and he has to re-imput the password. As it has happened so many times, he has now been locked out of games (? terminology) online. It isn't possible at the moment to have a wired connection. Virgin won't help as they do not support third party products. Never had this problem with Sky. tia

Sounds like you have the Hub 3 which can be flaky with multiple device connections over wifi - dropping an existing connections when another connects, as well as poor range and random glitches. If you are able to allocate a fixed IP address to the Xbox that might help, otherwise the favoured solution for many Virgin customers with this hub (including me) is to put it in modem mode and connect a separate router to it. You don't need to spend a fortune, any of the decent brands will outperform the Hub 3.

Thank you. How do you get a fixed IP address to the xbox?

I don't know about Xboxes personally but see
    https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/faqs/000025508/Setting-up-a-static-IP-address-for-Xbox-One/
You can also set a 'pseudo' fixed address on the Virgin Hub itself which will make it allocate the same reserved address every time it connects. The easiest way is to use DHCP reservation on the router:-

Navigate to 192.168.0.1 in your web browser and log in.

If you are using a Hub 3 go to Advanced->DHCP.
    Scroll down
Select the device from your list of connected devices.
Scroll down and you'll see the Add reserved rule Box is now populated with the device's MAC and IP address.
    Click Add rule
You may be kicked out of the Hub interface at this point - but if you go back in and check you'll see the device has now been added to the list of reserved devices.

From now on the device will always be assigned the same IP address.

There's a similar setting on all the previous Superhubs as well.

Thank you for the suggestion, i've tried that but for some reason it's not saving the Xbox in the reserved devices list.
