Most reliable brand

Hi, I'm driving an old Ford Fiesta (52 plate with 118000 miles) and I'm thinking to buy a new car (a nearly used one).
In your experience, what's the most reliable brand to consider?

My plan would be to borrow £6000-7000 and buy a 2015-2017 Toyota Yaris or Aygo with less than 30000 miles. Is that a reliable car?

Thank you

The obvious question, what's wrong with the fiesta?
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

It's quite old, soon it's gonna need a new clutch, tyres and brake pads. It's not worth it

All of those are normal wear & tear on ALL vehicles, if it's reliable otherwise you'll have change out of £600 for doing all that, as opposed to 10-12 times that amount for another car which will, at some unknown point, need clutch, tyres and brake pads.....

    Pretty well what I think.

Working on the principle that any car you actually need to buy (rather than want like that 30s blower Bentley I've always fancied) is a waste of money.
Then I'd run what I had 'til it dies.
Newer car will do the same thing but cost more.

I understand what you mean but it's a 16 years old car. I bought it last year for £700, I spent £170 just two months ago because some pipes, gaskets and other stuff were really corroded, then £270 to pass the MOT (that has advisor about corroded brake discs, pipes and damaged wheel).
In 1 years I spent more than £1000 on it and, as you said, I'm gonna spend probably another £600 soon.
So, my point is, it's worth to keep a 16 years old car that it's gonna have some other problems due to its age or buy a car for £6000 and not gonna spend money (hopefully) for at least 6-7 years (a part the MOT and services)?

With newer car I'm gonna spend money for the same thing in a, hopefully, very distant future compared with my 16 years old Fiesta

You can spend £6000 on the next car, by way of a loan, and you still will have to buy tryes, brakes etc.

But to answer your question, the most reliable brands (that I have found) are Honda & Toyota. You just need to buy the right car, preferable 1 owner, full history from a private seller to give you the best chance of finding a good one.

I know that I will have to buy tyres, brakes etc, but not in the very near future.
Also it would be unpleasant paying for new tyres, clutch and brakes on a car that will die after 2-3 months for example (it's much more likely that my Fiesta is gonna die before a barely new car).

While I find it difficult to believe the 2019 JD Power reliability survey has Peugot at the top of the list! Followed by Skoda and Hyundai. Honda are some way down the list and Toyota are in the bottom half.

Skoda often a decent choice for value and reliability. Be careful though as nowadays they aren't always as competitive price wise as you might think....
