Section 21 error query

I've just noticed a spelling mistake on the Section 21 notice that was issued to me last month. I've alerted the agent to this and they've sent it back amended but I was wondering - if it's reissued, would the dates not be changed? I.e., 2 months notice from the reissued date rather than the original issuing date?

I do not know the answer but what was the error?
If it is a lower case letter instead of a capital letter probably not.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. My first name was spelled incorrectly - they'd used another variant.0 -
If they issue another notice, then that notice will need to be compliant - and if it is backdated, then it won't be compliant. They appear to be conceding that the initially issued notice is not valid by issuing another one.0

Check the punctuation also, a missing comma is +1 months extra notice I believe.Know what you don't0

The LL has issued an S21 so want you out.
Why not just get on with looking for something else to rent?
Ok, so they spelt your name wrong. Hardly a big deal as it is clearly for you. I very much doubt a court would see this as a reason to re-issue and start the 2 months again.
Sometimes it's just easier to move on. You have plenty of time as an S21 is just a request to leave. You don't HAVE to go by that date.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Yes, but the tenant might NEED a valid s21 notice to show to a housing officer or might be struggling to find a place (lots of places don't like people on housing benefit / with pets / with children). If the landlord is questioning its validity then potentially the clock resets which isnt always a good thing for the tenant or the landlord.0 -
I wasn't necessarily looking to have the dates extended, I was more interested in whether they should have been, given that they essentially reissued it.0

By spelling your name incorrectly this would have rendered the notice void, a new notice would have to be issued and the dates should be amended as well.
I personally would bother as you will probably need a reference from them at some point. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
