Speed Up Laptop

I have a 7 or 8 year old Emachines E525 laptop. An excellent piece of equipment. Seem to be getting a bit slow to load simple webpages now. I have done all the usual things to speed it up but there is no real improvement. It has a 500GB HHD which is probably getting a bit tired now I would have thought. If I put a 1TB SSD…

Upgrading the CPU looks like a major task, I would be a bit wary of dismantling such an old machine in case something breaks !
I will upgrade the HDD to SSD & see if that helps a bit.
