Hotel says they've told parking eye to cancel my "Fine"

Short Story.

I stay at a hotel regularly on business. Or rather the Ltd company I own and work for stays at the hotel, but it's my car or sometimes my wife's car (today I'm in my wife's car)
Parking Eye manage the car park
I DEFINITELY put my reg in their tablet at the reception.
I stayed again twice. the following week.
I Got a Parking Charge Notice.
I rang the reception. They sent an email to Parking eye telling them to cancel my fine, and CC'd me
I stayed another 3 nights (in two different trips)
I got the same Parking charge notice. The deadline for payment went the day after I got it.
I booked in Tonight.
The Manager says the receptionist should have rung them.
He says he'll ring them.
He's had to do it multiple times, and email me confirmation that they've done it.
So I don't trust him to sort it out, but I have the email that the receptionist sent to the !!!!!!!s.

So what's the next step ?

So I work away, during the week. I Stay overnight Monday and Wednesday and travel home Tuesday and Thursday, unless there's a bank holiday.

this year i'm chasing the cheapest deal in stoke on trent and because i own my own ltd company, i can claim back any vat. I have a target which is a max of 85 quid a week.

Anyway, if you go cheap, you get what you paid for.

So via hotels.com, or was it booking.com i found Clayton Lodge Hotel and booked in for a night in early May. Now the place is a bit dated, near M6 junction 15, but for £32 a night, it's clean enough (not spotless but good enough unless you were OCD.

On booking in, i noticed that Parking eye manage the car park, and I said Churlishly, "If I'd known you used Parking Eye I wouldn't have booked"

having said this I made sure that I put my car details in correctly.

So I obviously got a Parking Charge Notice.

Receptionist was so nice about it when I phoned, "We will cancel it, you don't need to do anything, we will send you a copy of the email. and I'll get them to email you confirmation that this has been done.

Hi team,

Can you please cancel fine for car reg X123YZA as it was a hotel guest and also send out confirmation to guest when this has been cancelled.

Thanks

Megan

So obviously they resent the identical PCN

So Obviously when I booked in today, I spoke to the manager, and said "So I got another PCN for the same date. Are they going to chase me, until it goes to court and I ask the court to force you and Megan to attend for the Day, or are you going to make sure they email me confirmation that it's been cancelled"

So yes, he's going to phone them and sort it out and they will email me, but they might take a while.

I'm REALLY NOT HAPPY. Now I could and I will read all the posts on exactly what I should do, but if the hotel is saying we will sort it, then I should just trust them right ?:(

I don't.

Just skim read this, add on mobile.
Please don't refer to it as a fine, call it a parking charge notice.
You need the hotel to say that they want this cancelled

As you are on a mobile, you didn't get my sarcastic use of the word fine. The Receptionist, called it a fine, and it's NOT fine or a fine. I have a copy of the email she sent telling them to cancel it as the driver of the car was a hotel guest.

There's always a bit of delay between a landowner cancellation and PE confirming that in writing to the motorist.

Why not go on to the PE website and their 'Pay my Parking Charge' (or whatever they call it) portal, put in your details and check its current status?

when you say "put in my details" everything apart from my pin number?

    I will do that.

For all we 'call out' PE, they are above board and administratively efficient in confirming cancellations in writing. 7-10 days via post.

Remember, whilst it might be yours, cancellations are not their priority.

I can guess what their priority is.

It's not rocket science when they have only one priority.
