I've had a fine before due to late 'information' but I called and basically said as I had moved address I was unaware of all this and the fine got cleared. I would call saying you didn't know due to moving address and thought was scam as you didn't Park (CCTV can prove this and say it) basically be as honest and truthful as possible and they may just wipe the fine. If not I'm sorry but sometimes the world is cruel and everyone wants your hard earned money! Best of luck
Thanks, however in this circumstance I don’t think a phone will work but will have to go through the “set aside” process. Hopefully they have the CCTV but thanks for your help.0 -
Who sent this "dodgy looking photocopy"? When did you receive them, was it in time to complete the Acknowledgement of Service? Court papers are often surprisingly poor quality.
If it was the court then you clearly got them and ignored them. If it was before the time to acknowledge them that also leaves you with the difficulty that you new about the case and could have defended it.
From your description it sounds as if you had papers beforehand and ignored them.
Knowing exactly what you had and when would help. The details of the case are irrelevant at this point, it's all about the paperwork.0 -

As advised by ignoring the "ccj papers" you originally received you now have no grounds for winning a set aside.
It will be a waste of your £255 court fee0 -
Even though I did not … have a chance to defend myself
Surely that is not true, you told us you ignored the court claim. IMO you should cut your losses and pay, or ignore if you can live with a poor credit score. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I didn’t deliberately ignore court papers. No stamped court papers was revived just a dodgy vaguely printed photocopy. Also no correspondence saying that a judgment was passed was sent, I only found out by checking my credit report otherwise would of acted sooner.
Is somewhat at odds withIn this time I did move address but I did have a redirection but like all the online advice I just ignored etc. Same again when the CCJ papers came everyone online was saying it was a scam etc and just ignore which I did hence the CCJ issued.
If you are contemplating telling the court you had no knowledge of the court papers when, in fact, you did that can land you in a lot more bother than a ccj. Seriously don't even think about going down that route.0 -

Not unless you can truthfully tell the Judge that you never did receive the N1.
What ludicrous forums told you to ignore a COURT CLAIM N1 form?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
