Hi,

I have been parking in the Uni of Herts in order to go into the library, i have been parking in the student car park (im not a student of uni) and it is a permit only car park. However, there is a parking machine, including a parking code to pay for it on the RIng Go app. The tickets are inconsistent for the ones that have come ( i have parked there a certain amount of times, and only got x amount of tickets),
i have all the online receipts from RIng go (i paid on the dates that i visited). What can i do about avoiding this ticket, if there is anyway.

Thanks for the help

  • Please read the NEWBIES thread (one click back third thread down) to understand the game you are involved in.

The first advice is to approach the University for them to cancel.

They employ the scammers so should be able to get them off your back.
It’s the quickest and easiest way to deal with this.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
