Best card for rewards

Just looking at options for generating a little extra reward from credit card expenditure, appreciate thoughts on this !
Currently I have:
Halifax Clarity: Currently my main card for spending. Balance paid in full each month. Also use for occasional overseas spending due to the rates & no fees.
Barclaycard: Used to xfer a balance to it, and paying it down (will be cleared when the 0% expires). Don't use it for spending.
Started looking at rewards cards mainly as I applied for a Curve card, and could use this (depending on limits) to pay personal/Ltd company tax bills - and earn rewards from the linked payment card.
So ... firstly this rules out AMEX as that doesn't work with Curve !
Options seem to be Tandem, to replace Halifax card as there's similar benefits to overseas spending, plus the 0.5% Cashback.
Or, something like Virgin Atlantic Rewards+ card (and keep the Halifax card for overseas). But as I'm an infrequent flier and don't have a Virgin Flier Club status. I think the benefits here are limited.
Else, I just wait till the Apple credit card is available in the UK :rotfl:
Thanks.

Not really sure what the benefits of the curve card are to you or why you bothered to obtain it.
You need to look at what sort of rewards will benefit you personally.
Amex offer the best rewards cards so look at their range and see if any look attractive to you.
You can pay using the Amex card without the unnecessary involvement of curve as a third party.
Otherwise a supermarket card for nectar points or Clubcard points etc.
Or a cashback card but remember to factor in any fee.0 -

Curve lets you process credit card payments as debit card payments. It is useful for things like paying HMRC etc. to still get extra cashback.
Tandem is probably your best bet but if you don't get immediately accepted expect a long wait (been 8 weeks now). Aqua has the same rate and like Ben said there's always the supermarket cards.
The Apple Credit Card (if/when it launches here) won't have anywhere near as high cashback as in the US due to limits on interchange fees in Europe. It's unlikely to be more than 0.5% long term.0 -

This (thanks!). My largest payments will be to HMRC, and I'd need Curve to be the debit card to make these payments. And Curve doesn't work with AMEX currently.
Thanks for the suggestions - I'll take another look at Tandem or Aqua, and perhaps store cards (although I don't shop much in any one store).0 -
ASDA Card is good if you shop in ASDA. Outside only 0.2%.
Nationwide Select 0.25%
Natwest Reward 0.5% and 1% on supermarkets spend. £24 a year fee. Free if you have Reward current account.
Amex is by far the best. 0.5% on spend up to 5k 1% after that.0 -
Amex/Tandem is my current combo. Amex covers most of my spending - Tandem is great for overseas spending and for all the places which do not take Amex (surprisingly few now). I prefer cashback rewards - I can spend them as I wish. Amex pay yearly, Tandem pay monthly.0
