I agree tell the bank that the account is in dispute - they have to block it meaning nobody can pay in or take out.0

As these DD are the ex's why would she transfer them to her account?
Setup any essential items e.g. mortgage & utilities on your own account.
I would definitely push them to remove the OP's name or just close the account entirely. Freezing it doesn't solve the issue long term. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Why would she want to pay for her ex partners mortgage and utilities who she wants nothing to do with? :rotfl:
Her ex partner has even abandoned the house and he doesn't even want to pay his own mortgage and utilities.0 -

She must be living somewhere mortgage/rent and utility bill free.

She can, of course, then simply cancel the Direct Debits.urs sinserly,

The OP will of course have their own housing expenses but these obviously come from her own account or her new parts account who she lives with.
Why would her housing expenses come out of an ex partners account?0 -

But why?
Why would she want to move the mortgage and utility direct debits to her own account and then cancel them? Why move them at all?0 -

It's a joint account. She doesn't need to move them anywhere. She can cancel them in her own right.
She could also contact the bank and advise them of a dispute between parties, which would freeze the account and stop money going out.urs sinserly,

Ah i see what you meant. Due to you quoting my post about me asking why Heng Leng thinks she should move the Direct Debits i thought you were agreeing with Heng Leng saying she should move them and "then simply cancel the Direct Debits".0
