Hi I have tried to cancel my eurocamp holiday the website states that less than 84 days till holiday they will charge me 50% of the total cost - I cancelled in day 81 as this is the day I received the email reminding me - can they really get away with this I thought I would just lose my deposit - any help appreciated

Well if you cancelled 81 days beforehand then yes, they can get away with it.0

The booking conditions are quite clear, 50% if you leave it less than 84 days before travel to cancel and in this year's difficult market I suspect they may have difficulty reselling the holiday. Looking at the website this morning they are offering 30% off bookings in July....0

I suspect the OP is claiming mitigating circumstances because she (?) only got the email three days after the 84 day buffer has passed.
I suspect its tough, and you will need to claim some responsibility for forgetting when the balance was due.0 -
Yes they can, but is the reason for cancellation covered by your travel insurance?0
