OS Daily 28th May 2019

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning all,

Looooooooong story but in short, I've been consumed with an anxious feeling around work following my business trip to Berlin last week. So I've come into the office first thing to get a head start and hope that I can get my head above water to breath a bit.

I've brought some chicken and rice with me for lunch and I have L/O pasta for dinner. I went to to the SM yesterday just before 6 only to be told they were shutting (!!!) so I need to go back tonight.

    Have a good day :)

Some blue sky this morning but not much. Yesterday was either blazing sunshine or heavy showers. In between the showers I planted up some bedding plants in pots and bought some plants for the garden, just need them to grow now!

Back at it this morning, swimming then work. It's the busiest time at work with all the end of term trips and orders for the next term. Still, the time passes quickly.

Hope work is good to you Speky.
Pleased to hear your DM is looking after herself again Gers.

Have a good day, take care. XX

    Morning everyone

speky - thanks for starting us off, hope you find some breathing space x

Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH and DS1 up and getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying first cuppa with my porridge. DS2 settled and ok.

Cloudy start and temperature has dropped again, although dry underfoot at the moment.

Dinner last night was stir fry veg with a tomato chilli sauce - DH had fish, DS1 had fish cakes and I had some salmon fillet with mine, all eaten and enjoyed. Tonight we'll be having either gammon and egg, chips/jacket potato and beans/veg or egg, bacon, sausage, beans - DH has messed up the food plan due to wanting 2 of the meat options in one meal - he's done this twice this weekend.

Back to work today, we'll see what it brings, busy I hope.

    Keep safe and well x

Sorry to hear that Speky and if its any consolation me to no sleep to mention. `Hope you can put your mind at rest today

Off to Manchester today for a course which I dislike passionately but will hopefully have a fun group. Managed to finish my proposals yesterday and with a big sigh of relief pressed the send button at about 8pm If they dont say yes to them now I will be sending the boys round to have a word :D Its not my usual sales tactic and probably unwise as the client is the police

Busy week this week but Friday is at the moment free so I am already desperate for a long weekend.
    .
I have pulled pork sandwiches for lunch whichI made for last night but then didn't want them.

House is shameful at moment ...Cant Have Anyone Over Syndrome :o

Hope y'all have a lovely day and keep smiling

Morning folks and thanks SPEKY. It started off sunny but the clouds are rolling over now. More rain for us by the look of it. My poor poppies which were looking beautiful got battered to the ground by a heavy shower yesterday.

I don't know what came over me yesterday. I was quite worried about myself! I actually tackled quite a few of my postponed jobs! The sofas look like new after I attacked them with the leather cleaner. And the cushion covers got washed too. Loads of paperwork hit the shredding bag but that's still to deal with.

Having a day off today. Being Tuesday it's meet my oldest buddy day for coffees and then lunch. I really should order something other than the Cheese & Broccoli bake but I enjoy it so much!

The 2 youngest DGDs will be sleeping tonight as DD is working early tomorrow. They will be here all day being half term.

Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all who want/need them. Thinking of our absent friends especially SILVER OLDIE. Take care all xx

Looks to be another nice day here, its half term so work will be packed full of kids at the events we are holding. Yesterday was quite busy I did 14k steps just at work alone :T which is all good for losing weight but my goodness my feet ached !!

Truffle pesto for dinner tonight with salad, and garlic bread for oh its a really quick easy meal and very tasty.

Specky hope you are ok and that it settles at work xx

    Better dash running late

    Morning,

Had a trip out yesterday to Boundary Mill. I got some 'fly flot' sandals. They felt really comfortable when trying them on. I think it was Gers who mentioned fly flot a while back.

Looks like today will either be sunny or dull with rain.

I am not back at work until Monday. I have plenty of things to do in the house and garden . Today will be bill paying and I will sort through another cupboard.

    Good morning all

Thank you for starting us off Specky, hope you manage to have a good day.

Haven't posted as I've not been in a very good place. I had a sometimes 'difficult' relationship with my Mum and I look back with sadness at all the good times we both missed.

Thinking of all those finding life difficult at the moment

Silver-oldie[[/B I hope you find a good place soon. Remember you are grieving too. I do not know why your mom was Nursing Home, but I know since my mum has had dementia our relationship is different now.

    Morning all

Thanks for the thread Specky I hope things go well for you at work.
Hugs to all those in need especially SO, it can be harder to grieve for someone you had a difficult relationship with as there are so many unresolved issues, be kind to your self.

Stroke Club for CHS this morning I'm taking Beano on a play date.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
