Is an 'annually renewable policy' the same as an auto renewal policy? My motor insurance is coming up for renewal in the next few weeks and I dont want the auto renewing option.

I'd have thought an "annually renewable policy" was just a normal policy. They're all renewable annually, whether they do so automatically or not.

I suspect it's to clarify to the hard-of-thinking that just because they pay monthly, it isn't a monthly policy.
