Paying of Barcleys loan with a credit card help
Hello,

Firstly, I am new to this forum, so hello everyone :hello:

I will try and keep this as short as I can. Last year I purchased a kitchen through Wren that came with a 12-month interest free purchase through Barclays. This is coming to an end in August and unfortunately, I do not have enough to pay it all off before my 12-month interest free runs out. It will then go to a 6.9% APR, which I guess isn’t too bad.
The only thing is, I would like to save money by paying it off with a 0% credit card and money that I do have to pay it off with. It will also give me more time to pay it off if I choose the right one.

My 2 questions are -

Do Barclays accept credit card payments? I have read that lenders aren’t keen on it, I could be wrong.

Would I need a 0% interest on purchases credit card or a 0% balance transfer credit card?

Thank you for any help.

You'll almost certainly need a money transfer credit card. As to whether Barclays will accept a payment directly by credit card, ie a 'purchase', then surely the best people to ask are Barclays themselves?
Re the 6.9% APR, you say it isn't "too bad", but is it 'deferred interest', ie they'll charge you from the outset, not just from now on?0 -
Thank you for the info. I will need to get in contact with Barclays regarding the payment options.

As for the deferred interest, I will need to delve into this a little deeper as I am unsure.0 -
No way will Barclays take a credit card payment so the earlier posts about a money transfer card is the way to go.0

Depending upon your household expenditure, can you not do all your spending on a 0% purchases card and save the money you would have spent to repay the loan?0
