This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning all
Up early for me on a BH as I am off to work, it is likely to be one of the busiest days of the year and we often don't get time to eat
so I have done some overnight oats which I can eat this morning which should keep me going, I will take fruit and yogurt too. It will be interesting to see what my steps are this afternoon !!
House is fairly tidy and washing done just the dw to empty but OH can do that, he will also be in charge of dinner tonight, there is lots in so it wont be a problem.
OH and the pup are still snoring in bed, puppy did say hello when I got up but soon got back into bed :rotfl:, he will take her for another long walk today.
Got my plants sorted yesterday and have them in place to start covering the fence etc, and OH mowed and strimmed so it all looks good for now, the front hedge needs cutting but that will have to wait till the birds have stopped nesting as there are a few nests in there.
Hope you all have a lovely BH xx
Have good days all xx

Good morning
Im with you rubes I have a weeks worth to do by this evening. Hope it been busy today means it will fly by for you.
Got some stuff done yesterday but also had a call from the customer who added more so its a full one today.
Going to have an eat as required and what i can be bothered with day today as cooking is off the to do list. Weather looks grim so at least that temptation wont be there. So glad I spent ages watering the chillies on Friday :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a nicer day than me and the weather doesn't stop play for you0 -
Morning everyone
redruby - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH watching tv and drinking first cuppa of the day. I'm on here whilst drinking first cuppa and DS1 still in his pit as he went out last night and didn't come home until the early hours, don't expect to see him for a while yet. DS2 settled and ok.
Cloudy start to the day and it's cooler,
Yesterday lunch was pork loins, sausages, bacon, chips, peas/veg and gravy - DH's choice, was ok, not really what I like to eat but can't be bothered to argue, at least it was relatively quick and easy and hardly any prep time. Today I'm not sure what we'll be having, I have fish cakes and some salmon in the fridge, also other bits so will organise something from that.
We went to the big orange shed shop and got what we needed (although they had run out of the bigger trays of tomato plants), so had to buy 3 quite large pots with 1 in each - they have all been re-potted and put in position in the greenhouse, the couple of other plants we bought have been re-potted too. We'll see if they grow or not!
Back to work tomorrow, to be honest I'm quite looking forward to it, we haven't done anything/been anywhere this holiday weekend and I said when he wanted to get rid of the caravan I could see that we'd just go back to either working or being at home - and that's pretty much exactly what has happened - I don't want to go out all the time and spend loads of money - I just want to not be either at work or sat at home EVERY weekend. Of course, unless there's something he wants to do! I'm more than happy to go out for a walk or go to free places of interest but if I suggest that he'll either refuse or go but then make it obvious he doesn't want to be there until we get back.
Sorry for the rant, just so fed up.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all. I am off to Butlins Minehead wit DD and dgs today. On the direct coach from Bristol. That should be interesting. I am going primarily to give DD a hand. John is staying behind to do a few jobs and have a day out with his friend.

Morning folks and thanks REDRUBY. I hope today isn't too busy for you.
Another damp start here but the sun is trying it's best to get out. Like yesterday, both are forecast for today and it feels a bit cooler too.
Remind me not to enter for next year's Sewing Bee!! It was a thankless job in itself even getting the machine out from under the stairs yesterday, so much stuff had been shoved on and in front of it! Once in situ on the table I had a struggle remembering how to thread the machine and once I got to the needle I couldn't see the hole and had to get out a magnifying glass to help me!! Once I eventually got going I got both trousers shortened no problem and similarly the voiles. It's ages since I actually made anything and I think this has inspired me to browse the material stall on the market. I used to make most of my clothes and similarly my DD when she was younger but it was out of necessity and not enjoyment!
Today I have promised myself I will clean the leather sofas and wash the cushion covers.. A job I keep putting off but today's the day as I have nothing more exciting to do!!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all who need or want them. Thinking of you all and ILC I hope you had a good birthday yesterday. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all.
I had a peaceful day yesterday. After her shower DM got herself dressed and then tidied up all her bits and pieces round her bed. She weighed herself and found that she'd lost more weight so has started to eat more. :j
Today I'm going to zip into town to buy her a bra as she's shrunk out her old ones. I've also got the final two assessments to complete which I must do today or tomorrow.
My thoughts are with those facing difficulties and wish everyone a happy Monday.0 -
Thanks for all my birthday wishes for yesterday. Had a meal out with my DD and OH at lunchtime as my DD had a 2 hour journey back home in the evening.
Today a trip to Ikea to hopefully claim my £5 birthday voucher and will stock up with a few items for the house. Then as Boundary Mill is next door I am hopefully going to use a voucher for two free drinks and cake.
Weather here is dull and going to rain at some point.

Good Morning chums and it looks like a dry day here in Kent at least, although a little cooler. Not decided yet what I shall do today, just wait and see what I feel like.
I may have a gentle pottering day which means doing what I fancy . certainly won't be sitting in my car on the motorway to the seaside as Kent on BH Mondays are dire.
Hope everyone has a good day and enjoys their break from work
just off to make a nice pot of coffee to kick start my inner engine
cheers chums

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Redruby and hugs to all those in need.
We're got back from the Crick boat show yesterday and I went straight back out as I'd promised another boater a lift to Aldi, I bought enough to fill my freezer with as it's been half empty since we bought it.
Beano's had his morning constitutional and has gone back to bed.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -

Morning All
Back from my travels, the Highlands were spectacular as usual but the weather was far from spectacular! It was good to go walking with friends and their dog, I feel well rested.
I'm going up to the allotment later but apart from that not much planned, the weather isn't very inspiring - maybe some housework is on the cards.
Sounds like everyone on here is doing well, take care. XX0
