My cat only uses indoor litter.
She has ultra clumping litter so I can pick everything out daily.

I don’t change the whole thing every week as I am picking it all out, I deep clean it every month if i’m honest. Surely that’s the point of clumping litter.

I don’t have bad smells and litter is always free of soils and free moving for next use.

I find the more litter you have in, the less mess you get. I keep it topped up to the hilt at all times so the actual tray never gets messy or dirty other than odd accident.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

My cats is only changed when I think it's needed: rarely. Solids & clumps removed daily & topped up with fresh.:T
  • I have 3 indoor cats and 3 boxes. I changed a few months ago to trays with entrances in the top which means a lot less litter kicked out all over the carpet and seemingly less smell... Sometimes lol!

I had a bag of Worlds Best which I bought as one of my girls had surgery on her midline and I didn't want to use my normal Sanicat clumping litter. She's now fully healed, so one of the boxes has that in it and the other two have the normal stuff. I liked the World's Best stuff as it's lightweight, clumps well and is good at neutralising smells but sadly my creatures don't seem keen on it. I suspect that only Feora is using it as she got used to it when she was on cage rest.

I scoop the trays every night and do a deep clean every 6 weeks or so.
