We're off to Turkey in a couple of weeks for our annual visit.:D
Coming back last year, we missed the opening of the new terminal by a day.
In the old terminal, we used to buy duty free when we arrived at the duty free shop next to the luggage carousels. Is this still possible? We generally buy spirits for our apartment.

:)Bump!
Surely someone has been to the new terminal at Dalaman?0 -
According to a contact in the area it's available - the website seems to back this up http://en.yda.aero/unifree/
No guarantee that they have the brands that you're looking for nor that it's cheaper than downtown0 -
Almost certainly will be cheaper in resort.0

Not recently but we went into Dalaman last October and there was a duty free store in the arrivals area.
BTW the ‘new’ terminal was already showing high wear and tear. Locals told us that it had not been finished to a very good quality build. I’d agree.
Went through Antalya last week, same there regarding the duty free option on arrival.
I also felt the prices were poor. The gin on board the flight out with TUI was cheaper than that in the Turkish Duty Free store at AYT.0 -

Thanks for that. As it's a year since I was there, prices may have changed. It doesn't help that they put the prices in euros.0 -
Last week I passed through the new Istanbul airport - no hand luggage carts for the long distances involved (modern prevalence of wheelie cases perhaps), no drinking water fountains, high priced (in euros) food and 'duty free' outlets, apparent mediocre construction quality causing, for instance, wheeled cleaning carts and such to almost stop when crossing uneven joints in the floor. Comfortable seating is insufficient or absent. It's more or less brand new, so might improve...Evolution, not revolution0
