Epson Stylus DX4400 All-in-One

I saw this all-in-one printer/scanner/photocopier on the high street today for £49.

Does anyone have (or has had) one of these, and is it a reliable piece of kit and is it worth the money? etc.

Thanks in advance.....

I bought a DX4450 a few months back - this is the "european" version of the 4400 (and looks a lot better by the way...). Good bit of kit - decent software for scanning, printing, importing from digital camera, and pretty good results (printing a scanned photo was better than I expected).

Yes, that's the one - couldn't see why the 4400 was a tenner more (bought mine in Currys - looks like the "£20 off promo" has been running for a while...).

No USB lead in the box, if you don't have one try a local pound shop or ebuyer - PCW/Currys etc will stitch you up for around £15.

Maybe it's a tenner more because of the spec, like........um 25 ppm rather than 15 ppm, or something.
Anyway, i basically just need something to print work off with, and with cheap ink cartridges (i don't need photo quality printing).

Can i just ask, what is the paper feed mechanism like, does it feed from bot sides?
One big problem with those awful lexmark things is that they only feed in from one side so end up ripping and jamming all the paper, so i don;t want to buy anything similar to that ever again

I was reading some reviews about the Epsons and it seems like they sneakily lock-up, even before the ink cartridges are totally out of ink.

One review also said that even the scanner locks up if one ink cartridge is on low ink. That doesn't sound good.
    Have you had that problem??
