wheres the best place to view, and buy run down properties that need a lot of work? Are there specialist agents, auctions or another way to look for places that have seen better days?
Thanks in advance

There seem to be more run-down properties coming onto the market at the moment through normal EAs and advertised on Rightmove. They never used to get advertised as developers would grab them before they got that far. I'm wondering if this is because property developers are no longer waiting in the wings, snatching such properties straight from the EAs they have an 'understanding' with.

Anywhere really. All the above will sell rundown houses but most will be long gone to developers before you even get a sniff. I am finding it more difficult to find suitable houses now even being a cash buyer and being "in" with agents AND having a solicitor as a partner!0

In the current climate I would strongly suggest a wanted advert in your local rag.
One option you could try is to mailshot houses you could be interested in. After all this is what EAs do when they can't find houses to sell. We are currently doing up our property, which appears to be run down from the outside. We get quite a few cards from the local EAs.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
