Broken sofa

Not sure if this is the right board but a quick question. We bought new sofas when we moved house a couple of years ago. DH took charge and this was in the pre MS days so we spent a lot of money - about £3k - on a two seater and a big three seater modern look italian suite from a local independent store. Very uncomfortable but that's beside the point
Anyway I sat on the bigger sofa last night and it broke. The base came away from the leg with a loud crack. It hasn't had any abnormal use, in fact we don't ever sit in that room until the evening and no kids or anything like that so it's if anything had less use than you might expect.
Do you think I should take it back to the shop? And if so what would it be realistic to expect? Of course the ideal is always replacement but I guess that's unlikely. Given that it's made in italy would it be sensible to expect them to have it repaired? Has anyone had any experience of this? Any advice?

assuming the shop wont help you, then a diy repair should not be too hard in most cases.
ive repaired sofas for family a few times. wood and glue with screws or with a metal plate sometimes. stronger than the original pathetic design.
if diy not an option then a local handyman should be able to help.
(assuming frame damage here?)Get some gorm.0 -
