3rd problem in a short amount of time (i do buy loads of things tho with no issue)
bought item as parts or not working, thats fine i know what i am getting, problem is that its taken a knock in transport and the frame is cracked making it useless to me, also some hinges are broken and this was not mentioned
anyway i have contacted seller and shown photos and have not had a reply
going to wait for a few days and open a returns case as the frame is broken, now as it was sold as parts or not working will this be an issue as its now more broken than stated?
any advice or am i worrying about nothing?
thanks

I think it's a tricky one.challengedavid wrote: »3rd problem in a short amount of time (i do buy loads of things tho with no issue)

First, the seller may just refund or sort it.
The problems I can see is if the existing damage could effect other parts in transit. As a silly example if I sold a car with only 3 out of 4 wheels and someone drove it five miles there'd end up with more than just a missing wheel.
If it went to Ebay they may just refund but I could see the possibility of them seeing a complaint about a damaged item when the seller has sold a damaged item..0 -
Well, it's not as described if the frame is broken and that wasn't mentioned in the item description, so a carefully worded complaint should work.0

This could go either way. Something sold for spares or repairs and in the correct category with no guarantees would not need all the faults listed,it all depends on the exact wording and whether certain parts were listed as 'whole' or even 'repairable'.
My own example was quite a while ago but I sold a small electrical item, I sold it under the parts category not as the item itself, explained it had been dropped and was badly damaged, didn't work and I had no idea what the problem was but perhaps parts could be harvested. Someone tried to return it on my private account as having damage not shown as a charging/electrical outlet was broken so they couldn't even see if it powered up, and also one of the bits inside had sustained more damage than they thought I had mentioned- and although the outer looked battered I hadn't made any attempt to photograph the inner parts . I won the SNAD on the basis that my listing was very clear that this was badly damaged and I had no idea what exactly was wrong with it and was selling merely for parts.
It's worth a try though especially if listing mentioned the parts that are broken as being OK.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. had a reply from the seller, they said send it back and they will claim from the courier, so opened a case and they supplied a label
thing is if they had packed it properly it would not have broken in the first place, they sent it in a box that was too small so they had to take the insides out to fit, making it easy to break, i think the courier might not accept the claim, at least its not my problem now
slightly relieved!0
