Bit of advice needed if possible please as I'm stumped. I have/had an account with Scottish Widows that had been dormant for many years but had approx £150 left in. I had been receiving a statement advising me of the few pence interest the account had earned but this stopped last year. I can remember a letter advising me of planned changes to this type of account but am unable to find either this paperwork or the account details, put somewhere safe I expect but don't have a clue where.
I have messaged Scottish widows but all they advise me is the surrender value I could get if I closed a life policy I opened in 1971, something I certainly didn't ask for.
I do remember Scottish Widows wrote last year and said they would advise me of these planned changes but have heard nothing since, does anyone know of any changes such as transferring accounts to Lloyds or something similar. I know it's only a small sum but seems daft to just loose it.
Thanks

Have you been contacting Scottish Widows (the insurer) instead of Scottish Widows Bank?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Yes no problem as they only gave me a redemption figure which I never asked for and have no intention of taking up as the policy should just about be enough to pay for my funeral.0 -
