Ive just re-signed back upto another 12 month deal... simple and supersavvy. I noticed they have been removed from the money saving club ?
Ive not had any problems with them they seam fine to me, i did read a warning about a new customer ban by martin lewis.
I would like to know why they been removed and are all current customers safe to carry on with this company ? If theres trouble ahead then customers should be updated incase we need to jump ship!
Martin lewis you are supposed to advice us ..... so why not update us on whats really going on ???

There's lot of suppliers not on the CEC.

If they don't want to be on it they can ask to be removed.
Or if they don't pay MSE enough to be on it (based on commission for successful referrals) there's no point MSE wasting their time & effort advertising them.

Martin Lewis sold this site to a commecial organisation years ago, moneysupermarket. Indications are Martin Lewis got £125m. MSM have got to recover that money somehow.

Martin Lewis now concentrates on his media career (TV & radio), and spends a limited time on twitter, often in relation to his medai appaerences, but not this site.
Martin Lewis doesn't even bother with twitter at the weekends, and this week he's staying away all week. Well, if you had £125m in your pocket, would you give up your time any more than necessary?

Avro are currently not accepting new customers on their website. The website now shows a message if you try to get a quote to join:
Unfortunately we are not currently accepting new customers

Ofgem had issued a warning that if they did not become a Data Communications Company (DCC) user by the end of May, they may face a ban on taking on new customers. The suppliers were required to become DCC users to help drive the installation of next generation SMETS2 smart meters.

Whether they have voluntarily stopped accepting new customers in anticipation of Ofgem giving the official ban next week, or they have been banned by Ofgem already, I am not sure.

I too am a Avro Energy customer, and have been enjoying for the past few years having close to the cheapest energy prices on the market, thanks to me renewing at the right time as pricing have dropped (I check every month, as there are no exit fees). I have been wondering over the last year, however, why Avro did not have any details on the smart meters and how I get one. We now know why.

I am not an expert, so take this with a pinch of salt, but in recent months, where energy companies were banned from taking on new customers, they have collapsed within a matter of months.

However, the Ofgem safety net means that should they collapse, you will not lose power or gas, and will be transferred to another supplier along with any credit on your account.

If they do collapse, It seems it is best to wait until you are moved to another supplier before switching.

Personally, I am going to just enjoy the cheap prices for now, then switch once I have been moved if the worst happens.

When I look at my account on the Avro website it says I am in credit to an amount which is more than half my annual predicted bill. This looks like Avro are storing up My money in Their coffers! Combine this with them not taking on new customers and it makes me wonder if a cash-flow crisis is looming and they are trying to stave off receivership. Have there been any other indications of financial problems at Avro? If so what should I do?

I enter monthly meter readings on the day that the Avro website asks for them and have been getting a bill within 5 days of doing this.

Have you been providing meter readings for them to raise a bill?
