Best site for late deals

For the last 6 or 7 years we've always booked ourselves as we always stayed at the same place, but now might fancy a change, so was wondering whats the best websites for late deals? Is there a preferred website to search on or with? :o

I just used to look at the usual travel agents and see what they had available when I wanted to go away. (Eg Tui, Thomas Cook etc).

Where you thinking about going Europe, long haul etc as advice will differ.

You won't go wrong with Greece, Thassos is gorgeous and as it's a ferry from the mainland it's a little more relaxed than the ones with direct flights.

I liked Lanzarote (great food and photo opportunities), but didn't like Gran Canaria (too commercial and timeshare type people everywhere).

Only one did I use as a put together myself holiday was with on the beach, or that type of agent, but I wouldn't use them again unless ATOL protection now applies to self build holidays. The accommodation I wouldn't have even given it a 1* it was cramped, dingy and quite oppressive, thankfully I was only using it as a place to sleep and ruled out cooking / preparing any meals, and I'm used to SC holidaying in Greece!

Can't offer any suggestions about S.Americas.

Holiday Hypermarket is a TUI site, although it punts other package holiday firm deals.

Just an observation - I have often found it easier to use than their own website if trawling around.

Olympic holidays usually have some good late deals.

They used to but not so much nowadays.
A lot of their holiday headline prices exclude hold luggage and transfers.
20kg hold luggage can add an extra £63 pp.

As an extra to the above, Olympic are losing some of their properties that they've offered exclusively to them for a long time.
We stayed in a lovely place just outside of Chania back in 2011 but it's no longer with Olympic. I'm not sure if it's let out by the owner or if he went with a Scandinavian tour company, I know they were interested and it's a predominantly Scandinavian resort.

Ditto for some apartments we stayed in in 2104 in Parga (and every year since). They are now offered by TUI.

We booked with Olympic for Skiathos Town last August, paid £1110 for 2 weeks, the same holiday for 2019 is £1500 which is (imho) high for pretty basic Greek accommodation.

I know, but it's cheaper than TUI ….

Only by a tiny amount in my experience, about enough to buy a couple of beers.
