Being sued for car accident? HELP!!

Hello
Just wondering if anyone can advise.
My husband hit a cyclist in sep 2016, deemed his fault and left it to the insurance company to deal with. He received a county court claim this morning for over £25,000. Is this normal? I assumed the insurance company would have sorted this. Does this mean he will have to pay?? Very worried

Just pass it onto the insurance company. No need to worry.

The idiot will have just been sucked in by the accident claim adverts.

They always send to the person first because. a. that is who they are suing. and b. they sometimes cave and pay without checking anything out.

Yes ths just needs to go to the insurance to deal with (whoever it was at the time, not the current one).

So a cyclist who was involved in an accident deemed not his fault is an idiot? You have no idea what their injuries were.

Or "the idiot" (strange accusation to make when you know nothing of the circumstances) has losses and latent health problems attributed to the accident and has and will need lengthy and expensive treatment to help, such as ongoing physio for example.

I believe idiot was in reference to using a claims company rather than because he's a cyclist that was hit by OP's husband, but then I'm not the person best placed to clarify that :D
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
