RAC Loose front bumper, home recovery

Hi, My wife had a small accident yesterday and managed to drive home. I had a look last night and the front near side bumper is loose, maybe could come off on a motorway drive. Can we call out the RAC to fix the bumper?

No. They're a recovery service not mechanics to fix your car when it's not part of recovery.

You need a body shop, you don't need recovery. Where they gonna take you to, you are already home.

Wouldn't you be better off asking the RAC? I know Home Start will come out to you at home and try fix a breakdown but I don't think there's another level for at home body repairs. Or did you mean "Will they recover the car to a body shop?" Doubtful - but maybe as a chargeable service which will be no cheaper than getting the body shop to collect the car for repair.
I need to think of something new here...

I'd go with ductape, drive t to a couple of local bodyshops and ask for estimates........

....then spend much, much less on a whole box of ductape :D
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

It might even just clip back into it's retainers? Depending on where it is detatched and how it is fixed in place.
It might even help if the make and model were disclosed.

I think expecting a full story on here is asking a bit much :rotfl:

The RAC breakdown service doesn't cover accidents - they say that's what insurance is for.

The RAC will cover accidents but not as part of your cover with them. I believe they bill something like £150 a callout.
