hi,,what is the weekly rates of esa weekly if you are on the support group?

If it is legacy ESA and contribution based or 'new style' ESA it is £111.65.

if it is legacy ESA and income based it is £128.45.

Above rates assume claimant is aged 25 or over. For income based it assumes a Severe Disability premium does not apply.

So its a set amount for everybody ? I thought it depended on the severity of the illness/impairment to work ?

Support Group rates are as stated in post #2 above.



If someone is eligible for the severe disability premium it's an extra £65.85 per week, which is only paid with Income Related. If the person is claiming DLA mid/high rate care or PIP daily living, no one must be claiming carers allowance for looking after them and they must live alone or be classed as living alone.

If they were not in the Support Group it would be less but OP specifically asked about rates for the Support Group.
