Thank you so much. I'll update my summary with the additional suggestions so others may benefit:

    -Petrol
-Keep some of the budget (£1k in my case) for maintenance
-Look for 1 owner, service history, low mileage
    -Private sale is cheaper
    -Business car insurance
-Check employer mileage contribution (think it's 40p pm)
-Practical fit for purpose (boot size, passenger comfort as may be giving lifts to people who have limited mobility)
-If fuel consumption difference between vehicles > 5 mpgs, then worth considering paying more if the more efficient vehicle is more expensive
-Check how wide the doors open if it's needed to give lifts to people with limited mobility
-Ensure insurance cover is adequate for purpose
-See vanboys message. Check if employer has attractive lease deals.
    -Breakdown cover

    Vehicle suggestions:
    i10
    Fabia
    Cerlerio
    Corsa
    Fiesta
    Polo
    107
    206
    C1 or C2
    Aygo
    Yaris

Aygo and C1 share the same semi-auto gearbox that is known for being a bit delicate, not sure if the 107 is included in that too. 206 has electrics issues quite often.

When buying, don't rely on boot dimensions, for it suiting your needs, focus more on ease of getting things (and if you have patients) ease of getting them in and out the car.

No point having a really low down car if it's impractical for people to get in and out of.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.
