O/S Daily Thursday 23rd May 2019
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Light cloud but sun trying to break through this morning.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and I'm showered, dressed and enjoying first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and ok.
Dinner last night was jacket potato, breaded chicken portion, beans and cheese. Tonight will be beef stew and dumplings, mash and veg. Got a line of washing dried yesterday, hoping for more today.
Yesterday work was very quiet to start with then went manic for quite a while, but we got everyone sorted.
On to today -
Now on days' off, although I'm working Saturday, I have the usual "to do" list - so will get stuck in with that. I really must triage the fridge today before food shopping tomorrow, and find a use for what's in there or decide if it's so far gone it needs binning, hope that will be a minimal amount though.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a dry and sunny morning here and is set for the rest of the day. Phoebe and Steve have just left for work and Lilly and Lee are still fast asleep. I woke up with my mouth feeling like the bottom of a birdcage so I came down for a drink. I must have been 'catching flies' all night
.
Lee had his interview yesterday and I am very pleased to say he has been offered a conditional place on the course he wanted as long as he gets a good grade in his English gcse. I can't believe he is the same boy as last year when I feared I would lose him for ever. I am so so proud of him and all he has overcome so far.
Lee wants to go and buy some fish and rice for lunch as he is going through a Japanese phase of eating at the moment. I will be making a summer lentil and feta salad for dinner with some chicken on the side for my carniverous husband :rotfl:. Lilly is trying to eat more healthily too so she will be happy and Phoebe is just grateful for a meal she doesn't have to cook herself.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning All
I'm missing my morning sunshine, it's a quite overcast but I can see a little blue sky. Yesterday was lovely although the washing was getting a bit damp when I took it in at 8.30.
In service day today, should get a lot done without the constant interruptions, holidays tomorrow and Monday. I'm going to visit friends near Strathpeffer for the weekend but will stop overnight at DS1s otherwise it would be very late when I got there. I have all the bags in the hall ready to pack the car.
Had a lovely salad out with a friend after work yesterday then we went to Yoga which was great but it was a long day being out of the house from 7.30 to 8.30!
Enjoy Berlin Speky.
Glad you're enjoying your new home Nanny.
Well done Lee!
Take care. XX0 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A cloudy start for us but sunny intervals are forecast. Will settle for that.
My trip out yesterday reverted back to Skipton as my friend had heard the road works had finished. It was busy with coach trippers as expected. We did our usual trawl of the cs and both purchased odd bits. I also got DS some stuff from Fat Face for his birthday. Our best bargain was a cute bunny rabbit biscuit jar from Laura Ashley, £4.50 reduced from £35!! There were just 2 of them sitting there so we got one each! We rounded the afternoon off with late lunch and a large glass of wine. Most enjoyable.
This morning it's the weekly Aldi shop. DD picking me up at 8.30 at the start of the school run. Not too big a list this week.
This afternoon I have an appointment with the physio to see if my ageing joints and legs can be helped. I am not looking forward to it. But it would be nice to be leg pain free again.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. GERS the help your DM is getting in her home is wonderful. Thinking of SILVER OLDIE x Take care all xx
Well done to LEE. Clever boy."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all.
It's a bit grey here too, I'm just glad it's not raining though I have put the heating on.
Congrats to Lee - he's a credit to you and Steve Dumplimg
My day should be pretty quiet, just DM's cleaner and then I'll wander round town for a bit of the rain holds off.
Happy Thursday to all.0 -

and have slightly worked out why I am always so tired, it was just and average day at work yesterday and I walked just over 12000 steps, I am probably doing this most days its no wonder I am shattered at the end of the day !!
Not sure about dinner tonight but I may do some pasta with some low fat cream cheese and garlic dressing with olives, or similar.
Specky enjoy berlin xx

Well done to Lee thats fab news xx
We had a little hedgehog wandering around the garden last night goodness they can move when they want to !! he was there for ages and I put some water down, he had a massive drink and then scurried off, he was so thirsty there is not much water available to them this time of year, some water at ground level is being left out all the time now.
Have good days all xx0 -

Hey HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all, lively sunshine again.
Today I must get my (freelance) work organised, unpack some boxes and do more weeding g. I've other jobs too, have made a list.
Well done Lee!
I'm a bit tired, didn't sleep quite so well last night and was woken by noisy dawn chorus - been outside for a listen, lovely.
Hope everyone has the best day possible.
Hester, I've just found the link to your blog, Beano is very sweet.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good morning everyone,
I stayed late-ish yesterday in work and then home to cook a full chicken which took over an hour, so my night was mostly spent dithering around the house waiting on the bird to cook.
An earlier start for me as I woke too late for the gym but too early for work. Decided just to head in nonetheless. Need to disappear a bit earlier today anyway for a quick trip to the docs then a visit to the trafford centre to buy a new pair of work shoes in advance of my trip to Berlin tomorrow. So no NSD today.
Feeling quite excited about this trip away. I'm the only person representing my company and I'll be spending 24 hours with 2 brands at the same time. So there's a bit of pressure on me to make sure it goes well. Plus, it's worth a lot of money to us and importantly, to me in commission!! I recon I'll know by my flight home on Saturday night what the outcome will be. I can only do my best.
Dumpling - Amazing news on Lee. Congratulations.
TA - What an excellent find. Very MSE of you.0 -
