If you are starting a new business, you may be tempted by a "First Direct" type banking offering, "Counting Up", for your main business account.
I would strongly avoid this bank for the following reasons:-
1. They refuse to call you and do not have any kind of number to reach them on.
2. They do not offer any kind of overdraft facility.
3. They do not offer direct debit payments or receipts.
4. They do not offer any kind of credit card application for the business.
If you fancy having a shiny red card though with a really interesting packaging on arrival, go for it (oh and they give you £20 for joining, so maybe do it and then leave).
1* out of 5.
I am struggling to see what kind of service they actually do operate. I signed up 5 days ago and am currently already switching my bank to Santander who are a proper bank.

Don't you think that your post belongs on the Vents board?
I don't see any kind of question there?0 -
And for those, like me, who've never heard of this 'bank' - details here: https://countingup.com/
Note that whilst 'fee-free' for low turnover they charge 20p for transfer in or out and £1 for withdrawals, so not what I'd call fee-free. And despite claiming to be a "full UK current account" they can't do IBAN which rules out a lot of stuff - even payments from Amazon Pay.
So not actually that good. Not sure why what the OP's beef is though - they seem to have satisfied customers elsewhere.
Also not sure why OP thinks it is "First Direct" like? It's not remotely like FD, more similar to the many other fintech start-ups that claim to offer 'full' banking but don't.0
