Guarantee when company goes bust

Hi all,
Think I know the answer here, but curious...Had a loft conversion about 18 months. Had various issues with the company at the time, as standard I think. Looking at something online, saw the company is being wound up due to insolvency. We had a 10 year guarantee when they finished, but assume that is only worth the paper it's written on now...If the Company Directors set up a new company doing the same, as I think they will - can I chase them for an amended guarantee, or ask them to fix anything that might go wrong in the next 8.5 years?!...
Many thanks,
Al

Is the guarantee provided by the company themselves or a third party insurance company?
As for the principle, as with conservatory companies there are an awful lot of businesses out there claiming to be experts when in fact they have neither the knowledge or skill to complete a safe and legal loft conversion. A guarantee isn't much use anyway if it's been built poorly or in contravention of regulations.0 -
There's a certificate from Building Control too, so loft is safe and legal. Guarantee is by another company trading as the loft company. I've decided to watch both on Companies House just in case...0

Did you pay for any part of the contract on finance? (credit card or finance agreement ties to the work).
If so then the credit provider will be equally liable for providing any warranty service that is required (provided that the total cost wasn't over £30,000).0
