Agree with the above.
Whatever the reason you don’t meet their customer criteria.
Could be money, could be how you’re funding the account, could be the purpose you’re using the account for.
Either way they’re not obliged to tell you why.0 -
I did have an account with them a while ago but cant recall dates - any way I could check??I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0

Note that HSBC are quite public and specific about income requirements for their Premier account, so the fact that they are happy to publish this for one account but not another is likely to signify that it's not an official policy as such....0 -

I don't believe that HSBC has reset its requirements - there have been plenty of mentions over several years of applicants claiming to have been declined on salary grounds, but if it was a definitive rule then it wouldn't be in anyone's interests for HSBC to conceal it, as it would be as much a waste of their time as everyone else's, so it remains (to the best of my knowledge) some sort of internal guideline rather than a declared policy, and so MSE have to tread carefully in what they say.

I was declined last year for this account but accepted this year entering the same income details. The only difference is that I no longer hold a Marks and Spencer account and perhaps that my credit score has improved. So I think it's more than fair to say that it's a guideline rather than policy.0 -
Not sure if the emoji signifies that this isn't a serious question, but if it was then, assuming you have no relevant documentation (not just statements but letters, emails, etc), you could either check your credit files (which should show dates of closed accounts) or submit a Subject Access Request to HSBC requesting the information.
Thanks - I called into a branch of HSBC yesterday and asked them to check - I am not eligible.I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
Would they consider first direct as a HSBC account0

Would they consider first direct as a HSBC account
What did the T’s and C’s day when you read them?
Hint: it starts with an N and ends with an O...

Only if FD is considered a HSBC account or regarded as a separate bank account to HSBC.
Which I was hoping someone may have the answer to or experienced something similar0 -
Daggo87, please stop asking the same questions in multiple posts.0
