I'd offer on both. Gotta look out for #1!
The risk is that if either of them find out about the other, they may mark you down as not serious, and choose other offers over yours, even if yours is higher.0 -

Personally, I would offer on property B.
I would also ring up the estate agents for property A and explain that you would be willing to offer £x for property A, if the vendors have found a property and are in a proceedable position. Therefore, if the vendors find another property you will be willing to put in an offer - but otherwise you will have to go with property B.
Realistically it is unlikely that the vendors of property A will find another property in time. But you never know. Worth at least making the EA aware.0 -

To which most people would say jog on. I certainly never be dictated to. Met too many timewasters over the years, promise the earth and fail to deliver. If the property is desirable. Be another buyer soon enough.0 -
We'd have bought either of the properties we offered on at the same time, but obviously we had a preference. How could we tell whether offers were going to be accepted or not? If we hadn't offered on both, we could have ended up with neither. We know the person who bought the property we didn't buy also offered on the one we bought.
I’m sorry, but you are thinking of yourself and not of your potential seller. If you made me an offer and I took my house off the market, and I offered on something else and then you gave me that excuse - I would be upset. Pick one and go with it, if it does not work out, find something else.
In my view only make an offer if you intend to proceed and are capable of doing so.0 -

Then there's no harm done since you would not have got it anyway, but if they have reached that stage where they are willing to move out into rented you wouldn't know unless you asked. Its also certainly not true in many areas at the moment that "there will be another buyer along soon enough".0 -
Offer on both, it's everyone for themselves nowadays. Got to look after yourself, people may get upset for a bit but they will move on. Who's to say the seller wouldn't pull out later on? Same thing really. You're the one who is going to live there so do what's best for you0

All those sellers who hate time wasters, are you only going to show one interested person round or are you looking after number 1?0

I havent offered on B yet. I really would prefer A and if B accepts my offer whilst A is still outstanding Id not know what to do. If A sells to someone else then Id feel comfortable offering on B. A is the better house. B is ok too but now Ive seen A its the one I want, not at any price though.0

Just because one seller has found a house they want to buy and the other hasn't it doesn't necessarily mean that they will be able to move first, anything could happen with either sale and the other sellers could find a chain free house to move to tomorrow.
I would put an offer in on the one that I preferred.0
