I have contacted your loans team to be told that you no longer hold the account and will not deal with me, You even refused to allow me to make a complaint! I contacted BOS AA line who told me its written off and are now sending me the relevant information. Perhaps you can give me a number to speak with you over this? As I’m not getting anywhere calling the AA line and would like this resolved ASAP. In fairness the only really helpful ones have been Cabot.

    Hi Joe0202,

When you took out the Loan in 2004 this would have been with HBOS under our Personal Finance. BOS will still administer anything to do with that business. Please contact BOS on 0345 606 11 88 between Monday to Friday - 8am to 9pm, Saturday – 9.30am to 12.30pm (closed Sundays and English Bank Holidays). When you contact them, please explain that at the time The AA and HBOS were in partnership and that they were the lender. We hope you manage to get everything sorted.

You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

    Hi All

    it’s been a while!
I wanted to give an update to this post. After a very long and drawn out process (mainly because of the BOS!) I received a final decision today from the Financial Ombudsman. The decision was in my favour and they upheld my complaint, the ruling is for BOS to recall the debt and write of the balance as I was originally told. BOS did not act fairly, gave false information and did not keep in contact with me or inform me that the debt had been sold, instead told me it was written off,  all of this goes against the lending guidelines. I am pleased with the outcome and I am once again debt free.

Another satisfying conclusion to a dispute with a mealy mouthed lender. Well done.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

Very pleased for you, and thank you for taking the time to come back and update.  I'm glad you decided to fight this and thank God for SAR which enabled you to get those recordings.

    Good job.
