Aarrggghhh! I've lost all my music...

... on my laptop and my Creative Zen Micro.
This could be due to one of two things (I think!)
1 - I added iTunes onto my laptop a couple of days ago - am getting a Nano for my daughter for Xmas and wondered what the site looked like
2 - I pulled the plug mid sync when adding an audio book last weekend. I remember when I switched the MP3 on, it took ages to start and said 'rebuilding library' on the screen.
I'm not too worried about the music on the Zen, but can't find anything on my laptop - I use the Windows Media Player and not the Creative =-MediaSource to load my music, and there's nothing there.... :-(
Any ideas?

iTunes could have scanned your PC and recatalogued all the music into it's own library. When you open iTunes, is there any music shown?0 -

Many thanks for your replies, but alas they've not helped.
It now seems as though there might be a problem with the Zen itself. I've tried to add new music to it, but my PC doesn't seem to recognise it when I connect it - it brings up the 'New Hardware Found' message, but I can't see the device in Media Player or the Creative Organizer software.
Any ideas again please?0 -
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers? uninstall, reboot, then plug it in.Winnings

Thanks for your reply Lucifer!
I'm not especially techie, though, so would you mind expanding a bit more on your advice please...?!

Well remove your mp3 player from the usb and then stick the installation cd in and in the setup try to repair or uninstall and install from that setup.
Then replug in your media player.0 -
itunes doesn't like any other music format. I had this problem last Christmas.
Installed itunes and lost the use of my cd/dvd drives etc.
I ended up having to do a system restore back to before I installed itunes.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4
