When CDS sent my final bill by email (it was a standard Northumbria-branded bill, as I was a Northumbria customer) I got two emails at the same time with two bills - the first as you describe with no detail, the second a proper bill with readings. So perhaps a proper bill will follow.

Their emails come from billing@emailcdsg.com.

I had a final bill through the post today from brilliant energy for £560. There are no meter readings or energy useage on the bill. Purely the amount I owe but no explanations as to how they cane to that figure. An accompanying letter stating how to pay and confirms they have attached my bill which should include my useage to date. Pretty confused as I can't contest something when I have no idea what figures they have used to work this bill out

Every bill I have seen from Brilliant Energy starts with:

"Balance at your last bill ...."

and also includes the period it covers.

If neither the balance brought forward nor the start date of the latest bill coincides with the ending details of whatever previous bill you have, then you should expect another bill or bills to fill the gap.

The intermediate bill or bills should have all the details you require :)

Am I correct in assuming the final bill you have received indicates the balance at your last bill was £560?
• No the balance at my last bill was £87. The dates on this bill are covering only a 19 day period so obviously impossible to rack up £500 odd. It says this is your final bill and then the amount. And then we will try and take payment in the next 10 days. Still haven't received a proper bill or an email yet with any readings or previous payments etc

Sorry to tell you that CDS Administrators is a Scam, i paid my final last Brilliant Energy bill in March before they went into administration. I was amazed when i had an e-mail from CDS to say they are collecting £88.10 from an outstanding bill and wanted me to pay on my credit card online. Please do not fall into there hands, it's a Scam if you have had an e-mail from them, block them. If there is a phone number 02038071347, scam number, 0203 code is a scam. I also had a text telling me to get in touch as it is most urgent, block it. Hope this is some help to you all, please be save. I guess as many others think CDS avd insinuated they may be a legitimate company and can not be trusted.
• After months of suspicious text messages regarding outstanding payment due for energy charge with the now no more Brilliant Energy have now received today postal correspondence with similar requests for payment within 28 days.

The letter head doesn't look correct, as surely it wouldn't be Brilliant Energy ? also poor quality printing.

All phone numbers match those in the last entry on this stream - has this been confirmed as definetely being a scam ?

Is what a scam? A poor quality printed bill you have received? Sounds like it.

Brilliant Energy was predominantly a low cost, online supplier. Statements, including the final one, were sent out via email as far as I know and have seen.

The final bills were sent out end of May, as per this thread.

I guess if you haven't paid the final bill, you will be being chased for it (and that may be in paper form).
I guess they would be nearing the end of their patience by now. I know if I were owed the money, my patience would have already run out.
• I am a former SolarPlicity customer. My account has been taken over by EDF Energy. I spoke to EDF today as the smart gas meter fitted whilst I was with SolarPlicity sent no data and as a result my final bill is based on estimated usage only. EDF advised they are not permitted to update ANY of the data sent from SolarPlicity until CDS Global have worked out the final bill. EDF advised me to speak to CDS directly via 0203 807 1347. So I don’t think CDS are a scam. Also, 0203 number are in regular use for personal and business use, serving the London area. After reading these posts, I have been able to send CDS all the factual data regarding my SolarPlicity account ( tariff, readings, direct debits etc) via email so many thanks to those contributors.
