Thoughts on Victoria Plum, Soak etc

I am looking to replace a bathroom suite (straight bath, loo and sink) for under £600.

I have been browsing Victoria Plum and Soak.

Any recommendations where to go for decent quality and service at that level?

Bought all of mine from Betterbathrooms AND Soak, apparently they are actually the same company.
Had three shower bases before getting one which wasn't damaged. Otherwise impressed with the quality and value, but did need to watch for their ever changing discount codes and offers, to obtain best price.

Annoying thing with the shower bases, was the need to pay for a replacement, while waiting them to decide if the damage was their fault or mine (fotos had to be e mailed to them). Then having to dispose of the damaged items at our cost (or trip to the tip), as they didn't want it returned.

    Would use them again though.

    Hi
I looked at a variety of on line bathroom retailers when we refitted a bathroom but in the end we bought everything from James Hargreaves because I prefered that I could actually see everything before I made a decision. They have branches all over the place.
We used a plumber to fit and so we were able to take advantage of his trade discount so I don't think they were more expensive than Soak, Victoria plum, Victorian plumbing etc

The showers and taps from Victoria Plum don't last. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Been there, done it, then told other people not to do it. Watched them do it and now watching two year old taps look knackered.

When I'm working with a budget, I will always go to see my nice man in the local plumbers merchant. He'll always balance the look I'm after with products that last - he knows what gets returned with problems and what doesn't! There's plenty of unbranded, good quality stuff out there when you know what you're looking at. Decent taps do cost more than the likes of Victoria Plum sell them for, but they don't need replacing!
