Purchasing the searches which have been completed

So in a previous post I have written about our buyer pulling out a few weeks from exchanging.
Our vendor and her vendor are happy to wait for us for a while which makes the situation less heartbreaking!
We now have another offer on the property pending financial information being provided to the estate agent.
We also have more viewings lined up today and tomorrow so we are confident as is the Estate Agent that things will tick along nicely once we seal a new buyer now this week hopefully.
With our buyer who pulled out he had all his searches completed and so we want to buy them to help the process of new buyer time wise.
Any thoughts on how this should happen, who does the communicating and is it worth doing???
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

I wouldn't bother, to be honest. Searches don't take that long if instructed promptly, and it's unlikely that the new solicitor would accept anything not coming directly from the source, even if the the new buyer might be persuaded.
Concentrate on getting all your ducks in a row with answers to queries, and make sure the EA keeps on the new buyer and solicitor (politely, of course).0 -
Agree with Bossy pants... , they can be sourced whilst going through the rest of the process0

Not only that but I suspect most of the searches would be copyrighted and selling them would be against the T&C's of whoever provided them.0 -
before buying them, wait to see if your buyer wants them. Don't buy them unless they do. They might want them, they might not.0

Thanks for the replies on this.
I had thought it would save us time but the more i look in to it i think best to leave new buyer to get on with the normal procedure as could end up wasting money and time.0 -
In our collapsed sale, the new buyer purchased the survey which saved a bit of time. Assuming your buyer wants a survey.0

It is possible for your new buyer to purchase the searches obtained by your previous buyer, providing your solicitor contacts the previous solicitor to ask if the previous buyer would be willing to sell them on.
Bear in mind though that the old searches would not be offered at a discount and they may well be a couple of months old by the time the new solicitor requires them.
It would probably be best if the new buyer obtains their own searches - purchasing old searches would not save any time as there are other processes which run alongside obtaining searches. The transaction can only go forward to the next stage when all the other processes are complete.0 -
Dont get involved. Any problems/errors on the searches found later on and the buyer might come back to you.0
