In the future as long as you have more than £1 (for the initial check) you can always use it to top up your Amazon account balance.
That £1 will be a separate pending transaction so you'll have to request a top-up of £1 less than your balance then wait a week for it to drop off and then add the £1 (as it won't need to the the £1 pending charge the second time).
It's not perfect... But it does work if you have time & patience.0
