OL, another thing to look at is a Lasting Power of Attorney, that means you would be able to make financial decisions if George is unable for any reason. Steve and I did them early this year, I'd been trying to persuade him for a while but it was only when he got cancer that he agreed. It's quite straightforward and much easier and cheaper than trying to do it when there is a problem.
Speky, your company is wrong, some people wouldn't have the money to subsidise them.
I ended up on hands and knees scrubbing the grout in th en-suite's floor tiles yesterday (ouch), they look better for it. I want to sort the cupboards in the utility room today, I've stopped using a lot of the cleaning products but I don't know what to do with them, any ideas?0 -

Stroke Club today, only 20 to cook for.
First time Beano had been left, I was an hour and a half and left him with a Kong.
I peeped in the window when I arrived and he was fast asleep, I did receive a rapturous welcome though.
Have a good day everyone.

Hello, we have moved and I'm back. Another rented house as we have not found our forever hone but I do like this house, having not ,uh used the previous one. I had not realised how noisy the area was. Here, we have a garden, and all I can hear, most of the time, is birdsong, and I've slept quite well for the 3 nights we have been here.
It has been exhausting, even tough we have only a smallish quantity of furniture, moving from part-furnished to another part-furnished and we did it ourselves. Many trips! I did decluttering too, clearly we are not minimalists and although the sitting room and bedrooms contain a lot of stuff, it will get tidied away in the end. There are no bookshelves and even after a vicious cull, I do have an awful lot of books. That is not counting the books in storage.
The kit hen, bathroom and dining room are not too cluttered. Unfortunately the washing line bought by OH seems to be absent.
I'm too exhausted to drivel on as usual so will just send live to all and welcome Blsckcats.
Before I forget, we've a Robin in the garden, I know because I've obviously been weeding rather than putting away.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's another beautiful sunny morning here and I am so cross that I am stuck indoors . Even if I could leave, the bus company have decided in their wisdom to cut all the services that run to this part of town as there is 'no call for them'. It is such a shame and will have a real impact on all the people here who don't have a car. It is going to affect Steve as well and will add an extra half an hour walk on a week day for work. I will be writing a letter of complaint to the bus company but I don't hold out much hope that they will change their minds.
dumpling, try writing to your local council/MP. Our bus company were going to cut out our bus stop serving a couple of thousand houses on the 4th major road - 600 people/businesses & our local councillor managed to stop the rot :T during the ‘consultation’ phase. We still have our bus stop - although a different numbered bus :T
Hope that helps
