Has anyone used white vinegar to clean uPVC windows? Was it any good?

I keep meaning to buy this uPVC cleaner, but I usually forget it's in my wish list when placing orders. If the reviews are to be believed, it's pretty good stuff.0

I was hoping to clean up the windows and frames after having pebbledashing.0

Cif is excellent at cleaning uPVC.0

I don't think Cif is any good for removing cement smears.0

Ah, I missed that. I'd probably just wet it and then try to remove it physically with a stanley blade or fine scraping tool.
Failing that, brick acid. Not sure if that would harm the pvc - so best to test that on a spot first.0 -
Use water to remove any cement as gently as possible, so as not to scratch.
Then Cif
Then use Mer car polish
This will remove any remining residue and light scratches, leaving a well protected surface, for easy washing.

Because acid reacts chemically with cement.0

Citric acid will dissolve the cement. Cheap to buy from the hardware stores. Safe to handle does not attack the plastic and even acts as a disinfectant.
Mix about 100g in a litre of water and apply in the dry. Repeat if necessary then rinse off.
Just be careful that you do not leave it in contact with other cementwork as it will attack it over time too. Wash it off those areas to be untreated soon after application and even apply bicarb to neutralise.1 -
mask the frames so as to protect from cement1
