Leaving Chrysalis course

My son is doing a three year counselling course/class with Chrysalis. First year first tutor was fine. Second year has been terrible. Crap teacher. My son pays £106 a month for this out of his own very small pay. Can he just cancel the direct debit and say not happy, leaving? Any advice?

What does his contract with them state?
It may be that he's agreed a 3 year contract with them for a total price to be paid in instalments. Or that he's agreed for each year at a price of x.
But usually your first step is to check t&'cs and/or speak to the provider to see what their initial position is/might be and then work from there. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

What exactly is wrong with the teaching0 -
Can he not just suck it up for the rest of this teaching year? If he was happy on the first year then he may also be happy on the third year, unless he already knows that it will be the same tutor as this year.
It would seem a shame to throw away over a years worth of learning and the money he's already paid, plus losing out on the qualification he wants for the sake of just a single tutor he's not happy with. Has he even tried to discuss his issues with the tutor? Or if he's not confident enough for that discussing it with his previous tutor or somebody higher up?0 -

Pretty much this.
Advise your son to suck it up & think about the endgame & what he is going to get out of it. All be worth it in the end.
If he's almost half way through the 3 year course, what positives can come out of throwing that away because he's not keen on the teacher.0 -
The student needs to log on to the Chrysalis courses website and go into the student area. There is Withrawal Form to download. They will process within 21 days. If you are paying by DD inform them that you will be cancelling the debit at the end of the month. All courses are 12 months, self contained courses and each must be passed in order to progress. They may challenge a refund but seek advice from CAB. Another training provider (private college) was successfully prosecuted for failing to refund students (pro rata) for uncompleted courses..0

Has he spoken to anyone in relation to the poor teaching? That should be the 1st point to raise. If no one does that then as far as the tutor goes, they are doing OK.Life in the slow lane0 -
