OVO: Can't switch supplier as residential property has been registered as commerical?
Hi,
We've just bought a property and the electric and gas is with OVO.
I rang today to set it up, but when I rang other suppliers (as my quote couldn't be calculated online), I was advised that I couldn't change as we were incorrectly set up in the national database as a commerical residence - but only for electric?
Has anyone had this before and knows how long it takes to rectify? I've looked online and can't find anything similar, but the guy at EOn said they were seeing a lot of it recently.
As we didn't want to incur any fees for exiting, we're on a variable rate which we want to get off ASAP so any advice would be great. I've rang OVO already and have been promised a call back later today.

I had the exact same problem and was also with Ovo at the time. It's Ovo who have to fix it in the national database (something to do with profiles). I think it took just under a couple of weeks and Ovo called me back to confirm it was sorted. My second attempt at switching then went through without any problems.0
