That's an easy one - change the locks, and don't give the LL a key (but give one to the LA). Change them back at the end of the tenancy. :)

Wouldn't have helped unfortunately, since he regularly used his key to access the fire escape to jump onto the roof from the public hallway & down onto our apartment's private roof terrace. The roof terrace went all the way around our apartment surrounded by floor to ceiling windows & doors.

He would peer through all the glass walls from our own private roof terrace & stare at us (naked or otherwise!) in our bedrooms, the lounge, kitchen, dining area, and bathroom... and if we had the patio doors open, he'd walk in! :rotfl:

If he was a nice friendly chap it might have been comical, but he was aggressive & rude, looked at us like he was angry we're in his flat & he'd often turn up several times a week with a group of people unannounced, just to "show around" his friends or family.

    Good try though.

Not sure how this helps tenants who can't afford to hire a locksmith to replace the front door locks, which, depending on the door & lock isn't always a cheap venture! :D

Actually tried this in the past- they keep coming off! Tried with water as well, no use.. I noticed a lot of 1 star reviews in that link of people who say the same thing :o Thanks for trying though :)

It's not often that locks on rental places are weird and wonderful ... they're mostly one of the standard types and easily swapped out by someone handy with a screwdriver. :)

We bought one about 8 years ago when our son was a baby - it was in use in his room until about last year. It was so good we bought a second one for holidays and weekends away. Never had a problem with either coming off the windows.
